National Comparative Exams
1.1. What are National Comparative Exams
National comparative exams are a product of Scio, which makes it possible to compare the study prerequisites and knowledge of NCE participants. For this reason, the results of the NCE are used mainly by faculties instead of entrance exams or the result of the NCE is one of the criteria for admission to a university. NCE are held on-site or online; both forms are completely equal and the test results in both modes are fully comparable.
The subject of service by Scio within the NCE product is:
- Logistical support of the customer's participation in the NCE, ie inclusion of the NCE participant on the ordered date and specific place in a particular classroom and provision of necessary materials necessary to perform the exam / In the case of online NCE, provision of the ScioLink test system operated by Scio.
- Provision of information necessary for the full participation of the NCE participant in the exam ordered by him (publication of an invitation to the NCE deadline containing all important information about the exact address of the NCE venue, documents and needs that the candidate must take for the exam itself; then information on the necessary technical equipment and rules of the test in online form; information on the publication of the digitized record sheet, public review of the tests, the result of the test and other additional communication)
- Ensuring the course of the exam through administrators and the coordinator at the place of the exam; ensuring the evaluation of the record through the evaluators of the online NCE
- The exam itself consists in verifying the general study prerequisites, or knowledge, in a pre-agreed manner
- Automatic evaluation of the record sheet (scanning and evaluation via special software)
- Sending the result to the given faculty of the university (in case the NCE participant chooses such an option in the application for the exam and in case the faculty accepts this method of handing over the result within the conditions of the admission procedure)
- Provision of a Test, through which general study prerequisites or knowledge are verified within the NCE
- Specification for verification of general study prerequisites and knowledge within the NCE
General study prerequisites and candidates knowledge are verified within the NCE through tests created for this purpose in a professional manner. The tests used within the NCE meet the statistical standards valid for measuring educational results. When preparing the tests, Scio still takes into account the possibility that some of the tasks that are part of the test are subject to a defect. In this case, the task from the test, resp. excluded from the evaluation of its solution (see Article 14 of these Terms and Conditions), without this having any effect on the informative value of the test as a whole. The elimination of the task does not even disadvantage the participants of the given test variant compared to the participants of other variants, given that the test result is not given by the number of points achieved, but by the so-called harmonized percentile. The tests are designed from the very beginning so that they fully fulfill their purpose even if they contain up to 10% of erroneous tasks, even if these tasks are discarded within the public opposition or remain in the evaluation. This can be demonstrated by the values of the statistical criteria used to measure the quality of the whole test, such as the average discrimination (average ability of one test task to distinguish those tested with different levels of skills or knowledge) or the reliability (measurement accuracy) of the test. Therefore, errors in tests up to the stated number are not a defect of the goods or services provided. An additional service for NCE participants is used to eliminate such errors - namely public opposition according to Article 14 of these Terms and Conditions. Any error in the task that does not affect the solution of the task, resp. the number of points achieved, and a task that has more than one solution is not wrong.
1.2. Announcement and information about the NCE for the NCE participant
Scio provides all notifications and information concerning the NCE to the NCE participant in electronic form, via the NCE participant's personal profile (Article 2 of these Rules of Participation). Scio will notify the NCE participant of the location of the information in the personal profile via an e-mail message. Scio is not responsible for cases where the delivery of the sent e-mail message is not due to the fault of the transmission network operator or the e-mail inbox of the NCE participant.
2.1. Obligation to register in the Scio online store
Before submitting the first application (order) for the examination within the NCE, the person interested in participating in the NCE is obliged to register in the online store at www.scio.sk/english. Registration is a necessary condition for those interested in participating in the NCE to be able to operate their personal profile, log in to the NCE and, if necessary, place orders for other services.
A registered NCE participant has the opportunity to monitor the current status of their application, or to make changes to the application. Registration must be done at the first application (or when ordering other goods or services). The system itself guides the person interested in participating in the NCE to the registration form, where the person interested in participating in the NCE fills in the necessary data. The successful registration of an applicant for participation in the NCE is confirmed by Scio in the form of an e-mail message sent to the e-mail address provided by the applicant during registration. In the same way, every application for exams or another order of an NCE participant is confirmed. Those interested in participating in the NCE are obliged to fill in all mandatory data correctly and truthfully - when entering incorrect or incomplete data, Scio does not guarantee that the application for exams (or other order) will be processed correctly and on time.
Scio will register the person interested in participating in the NCE only once. Each additional application for the exam (or other order) is made under the registration data assigned in the first order, ie under the login name and password.
2.2. More information on the processing of personal data is available here.
To order goods and services, the customer fills in the order form in the web interface of the store. The order form contains in particular information about:
- the ordered goods or services (the ordered product is "inserted" by the customer into the electronic shopping cart of the store's web interface),
- the method of payment of the price, information on the required method of delivery of the ordered goods and information on the costs associated with the delivery of goods (hereinafter collectively referred to as "order").
Before sending the order to Scio, the customer is allowed to check and change the data he has entered in the order. The customer sends the order to Scio by clicking on the "Confirm order" button. The information provided in the order is considered correct by Scio. Immediately upon receipt of the order, Scio will confirm its receipt to the customer by email to the customer's email address specified in the personal profile or in the order (hereinafter referred to as the "customer's email address").
Depending on the nature of the order (quantity of goods, price, estimated shipping costs), Scio is always entitled to ask the customer for additional confirmation of the order (for example, in writing, by email or by telephone).
2.4. A conclusion of the contract
The customer's order (for the NCE product in the text of the terms and conditions also "NCE application") is a proposal for concluding the contract and the contract itself is concluded at the moment of delivery of the service provider's binding consent to this proposal (binding confirmation of the order by the service provider).
From this moment, mutual rights and obligations arise between Scio and the customer, which are defined by the contract and the business conditions, which are an integral part of this contract. The concluded contract is archived by Scio for the purpose of its successful fulfillment and is not accessible to non-participating parties. The customer agrees to the use of means of distance communication when concluding the contract. The costs incurred by the customer in the use of means of distance communication in connection with the conclusion of the contract (costs of internet connection, costs of telephone calls) are borne by the customer, and these costs do not differ.
3) Price and payment of product
3.1. The product prices

3.3. Last minute application
In exceptional cases, it is possible to register for the exam in person at the place of the exams on the given date, no later than 20 minutes before the start of the exam. However, such registration will be possible only if the current situation (capacity and organizational possibilities) in the place of the exam allows it and for an extraordinary surcharge according to the valid price list. This surcharge covers the costs of the necessary individual processing of the application and the additional placement of the person interested in participating in the NCE for the exam, as well as the organization and logistics at the place of the exam.
This option is not available for online NCE.
3.4. Legal binding of the application
The application becomes legally binding at the moment the application is delivered to Scio (see the method of filing the application in paragraphs 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3). Scio will then confirm the successful application for the exam by e-mail to the registered e-mail address of the person interested in participating in the NCE. The report contains complete information about the completed application. In the case of an extraordinary application at the NCE venue, a written confirmation is given to the NCE participant. By confirming the application, a contract for the provision of services is concluded between the person interested in participating in the NCE and Scio.

In such a case, the participant may make a change to another venue of full-time NCE, for which such a restriction does not apply, but always only in accordance with the terms set out in these terms and conditions (until the 13th day before the NCE).
The change to the online NCE will take place even if the anti-epidemic measures only limit the capacity to hold full-time NCE so that Scio will not be able to provide a full-time NCE for all registered participants.
This change as a result of anti-epidemic measures is already foreseen when concluding the contract with the participant and therefore cannot be a reason for withdrawal from the contract by the participant.
The above rules apply mutatis mutandis to the change of an online NCE to a full-time NCE from a Scio decision.
8.1 Change of exam date
The NCE participant has the right to change the date of the examination within the same place. The date can be changed no later than the 13th day before the given NCE date via the personal profile at www.scio.sk/english. Information on the dates of the NCE is available there.

NCE participants will always be informed of such a change by Scio immediately by e-mail and will also find this information in their personal profile at www.scio.sk/english. 10.5 Withdrawal from the contract by a participant in the NCE
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1829, Paragraph 1 of the Civil Code, a participant in the NCE has the right to withdraw from the concluded contract without giving a reason within 14 days of its conclusion, resp. from the receipt of the goods, but no later than 13 days before the date of the National Comparative Tests. At this time, Scio will also prepare an individual test for each NCE participant, who will take the test (the test will be marked with a unique code). The NCE participant expressly agrees with this date of commencement of the provision of services related to the NCE and the adjustment of the test for the person of each individual NCE participant and expresses this consent by confirming that he is bound by these Rules for participation in the NCE (business conditions). Withdrawal from the contract must be made by the NCE participant in a way that does not raise doubts that he is withdrawing from the contract; such a way is to withdraw from the contract by filling in the form he finds in his personal profile. The effectiveness of another method of withdrawal from the contract due to the seriousness of the possible consequences of such an act (non-participation in the NCE, failure to meet the conditions for admission to the selected faculty) will be assessed by Scio always and in case of doubt the NCE participant will be asked to fill the form cession.

This feedback is always informative only, its purpose is to instruct candidates to ensure the best possible conditions for compliance with the rules of the online exam. However, it is the participant's responsibility to follow the rules, ie the fact that ScioLink does not alert him to a breach during the test does not mean that the breach cannot be found subsequently when evaluating the record. All records are always evaluated by trained Scio evaluators.
11.2 Sanctions for violation of the rules of the NCE
Violation of the Rules pursuant to paragraph 11.3. of these Conditions will be considered a material breach of the contractual obligations and conditions of the examination, and in these cases the participant will not be allowed to complete and pass the examination. Part of the provision of the NCE service in on-site form is the taking of photographs, or video footage of the rooms in which the tests are taking place within the NCE, in order to ensure and future verification of the regular course of the test. Part of the provision of the NCE service in the online form is the acquisition of a video and audio recording of the course of the examination and a recording of the participant's computer screen for the duration of the examination. More information on the privacy page.
11.4 Objection to the course of the exam
After the exam, each participant has in their personal profile a form for submitting an objection to the course of the exam. In order for the evaluation of the objection to be taken into account in the evaluation of the examination itself, it is necessary that the objection be submitted no later than 2 days from the date of the NCE to which it relates. A later objection can no longer be taken into account in the evaluation of the test. Objections to the course of the test submitted in another form cannot be taken into account either.
The filing of an objection may be the basis for a later complaint, or for a decision on the invalidity of the result due to a violation of the NCE Rules.
12.1 Preliminary results
After the exam, the preliminary result is made available to the participant immediately after the record sheets are processed in the case of full-time NCE or the test results from the test application in the case of online NCE. This result is in the form of a preliminary percentile. This result is not definitive, as it does not take into account the results of public opposition and, in the case of online NCE, also the evaluation of regularity (compliance with the rules for passing the exam in online form). This result is not applicable to faculty admissions. This is a paid service beyond the NCE itself and its final result.
12.2. Time of publication of final results
The final results will be made available no earlier than 14 days after the date of the examination(s) and no later than 20 days after the date of the examination(s). The results will be available in the personal profile until 31 August, in which the admission procedure ends, within which the NCE results are to be used. After this date, only summary results will be available in the personal profile archive.
12.3 Form of the final result
The result of the test itself is in the form of a score. The result of the NCE examination(s), which is valid within the admission procedure at the faculties, will take the form of a percentile, possibly recalculated, resp. harmonized percentile (converted = harmonized). You can find more about the harmonized percentile at www.scio.sk/english.
In the test of General Study Prerequisites, General Study Prerequisites and Basics of Social Sciences, the recalculation will be performed for each of the sections of the test separately. A conversion table between the score and the percentile is created for each test (or test section) and date. These tables will be published together with the final results according to Article 12 of these terms and conditions.
12.4 Invalid result
The results of the NCE as they are passed on to the faculties and as they are used in the admission procedure must meet strict criteria for the accuracy and comparability of the knowledge and skills of individual NCE participants. Scio guarantees that the results of the NCE have such characteristics to the faculties and all participants. And if Scio cannot guarantee that the result has such a characteristic, such a result cannot be used in the admission procedure. In such a case, Scio will decide on the invalidity of the result.
The result is always invalid if during the exam (both online and full-time) there is a violation of the Rules (paragraph 11.1 of these Conditions), as a result of which Scio cannot guarantee that the participant did not or could not gain an undue advantage over other participants. Supervision of full-time NCE, records from online NCE, as well as other procedures for evaluating the course of the exam (eg analysis of the participant's answers) are used to detect violations of the rules.
Scio informs the participant about the invalidity of the result immediately after the evaluation of the course of the test and at the same time informs him of the violation of the rules.
If the participant does not agree with the decision on the invalidity of the result of his examination, he has the opportunity to request a review of the decision on invalidity by the evaluation committee. The application for review of the decision on invalidity must then be submitted within 2 days from the day when he received the decision on invalidity of the result. In this request, the participant shall state all relevant circumstances and reasons for submitting the request. The application in the personal profile of the participant is used to submit the application, through which the application is delivered directly to the evaluation committee. This form is necessary in order for all applications to be properly and timely assessed by the evaluation committee. A late request for review will not be considered.
On the basis of the review request, the Commission will re-evaluate the test record and evaluate all the circumstances and reasons given by the participant in the request and will re-decide on the regularity or irregularity of the test. The decision of the commission is final.
In the event that the test is evaluated as irregular, the participant will be issued a confirmation of participation in the test and its result, justifying why the test was evaluated as irregular and why it was decided to invalidate the result. This confirmation will be made available to the participant via a personal profile.
An invalid result will not be passed to the faculty.
13.1 Score and publication of record sheets
Scio will send an information about the availability of the NCE participant's record sheets and the achieved score in the personal profile to each NCE participant who duly ordered and paid the payment for the NCE and NCE exam(s) duly and on time. The record sheets and the achieved score will be accessible on the website www.scio.sk/englishvia a personal profile in the terms stated at www.scio.sk/english and will remain accessible until 31 August of the year in which the admission procedure ends, within which the results of the NCE are to be used.
13.2 Test results
The results (percentile or harmonized percentile) will be available on the website www.scio.sk/englishin the terms listed at www.scio.sk/english. The results are accessible via a personal profile. The participant will be informed about the availability of the results via the e-mail address provided in the application for the NCE.
14.1 The course of public opposition to the test or the key to the correct solutions
During the dates listed at www.scio.sk/english, the assignment of the exams and the keys to the correct solutions will be published in the personal profiles of the exam participants during the public review. If the NCE participant is convinced that the test entry or the key to the correct solutions contains an error, he/she can participate in the public opposition through his / her personal profile. The public review usually starts on the day of the exam and ends on the 4th day after the exam date. For each exam date, this period is specified at www.scio.sk/english. Details and rules of participation in the public opposition can be found at www.scio.sk/english
14.2 Activities and conclusions of the independent expert commission
If the panel finds that the initiative is justified and the task assignment or the key to the correct solutions is indeed incorrect, it may recommend either excluding the task from further evaluation or recognizing more than one answer as correct (this is the only exception to the rule that each task has only one correct solution). The method of resolving the objection is chosen by an expert commission according to its suitability in a specific case, and this solution is valid for all participants in the test. In case of an objection to the task, included in duplicate in several test variants, the solution will be valid for all these variants.
The recommendation of the expert commission will be placed in the personal profile of all participants of the given NCE term together with the final results. The commission's recommendation is final and unchangeable. Scio undertakes to accept and follow the Commission's recommendation, otherwise Scio is obliged to duly justify its action.
14.3 Resolving a test error outside a public opponent
If Scio finds an error in entering the test within the NCE at such a time when the entry can no longer be changed, then it will exclude such a task from the examination evaluation for all NIS participants within the relevant deadline.
Attention: Public opposition within the NCE is not a complaint, nor should it replace the complaint. Public opposition is a service for NCE participants and a way to make testing within NCE more transparent. The error in the test does not necessarily have to be a defect of the provided service, the whole concept of tests takes into account the possibility of a certain number of errors (see paragraph 1.5 of these terms and conditions). These are therefore two independent and separate processes. More about the complaints in Article 19.3 of these Terms and Conditions. The public opposition is also not identical with the submission of a request for review against the faculty's decision not to admit the study.
All information on the processing and protection of personal data of Scio's customers and NCE participants in accordance with the provisions of Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is available on the personal data protection page.
Attention: If the NCE participant does not agree with the provision of birth number or other personal data to Scio, he / she can pass the exam / exams in a special regime for an additional fee, in which the provision of personal data will not be required. The surcharge is CZK 1,000 per exam, which serves to cover the increased administrative and other costs of Scio. The results of the exam, which will take place in this special (anonymous) regime, will never (even after the additional provision of the participant's identification data) be passed on to any university faculty or any other entity where the NCE result could play a role. Such a result serves only the needs of the test participant. An exam that takes place in this special (anonymous) mode is not certified. If you want to take the exam in this mode, contact us.
16.1 Instructions for providing test results
As part of the electronic application for the NCE (see Article 4 of these Terms and Conditions), the NSA participant may instruct Scio to provide the third party that indicated in the application (eg university) the result of the examination(s), including its identification data. The issuance of the order obliges Scio to process as well as to provide the participant's identification data and his / her exam / exam results to the relevant university. This instruction is valid and effective for all tests performed by the NCE participant.
16.2 Change of instruction
The instruction to provide the results of the tests), including personal data, may be changed by the participant. It is possible to change the instruction only within the personal profile on the website www.scio.sk/english. The participant can make the change no later than 4 days before the deadline for submitting the exam results to the faculty, which will request a database of results from Scio (information on the deadlines for submitting exam results to the faculty is available in the personal profile of candidates, in the My faculties section).
16.3 Handing over the result to university faculties
Scio will pass on to the faculties of the universities that accept candidates on the basis of the result of the examination / examinations within the NCE, the results of those NCE participants who have explicitly instructed to do so. Without this instruction, the result cannot be passed on to university faculties.
Scio does not guarantee that the submitted result will be taken into account in the admission procedure of a specific university faculty. Basic information on the conditions that must be met to take the result into account is available at www.scio.sk/english. Up-to-date and complete information must always be verified on the websites of the individual faculties. The current list of faculties using the results of the NCE is available at www.scio.sk/english.
16.4 Use of an invalid result in the admission procedure to the university faculty
Scio will not pass on the invalid result to the faculty. If a participant in the admission procedure submits it to the faculty and the faculty asks Scio for an opinion on the reasons for the decision on invalidity, Scio will provide such an opinion to the faculty.
Information on archiving and disposal times can be found on the privacy page.
18.1 Conditions of provision and amount of social discount
Those interested in participating in the NCE who, in accordance with legal regulations on social security (Act No. 117/1995 Coll., On state social support, as amended) prove their so-called social need and meet other criteria set out in these Rules for Participation in the NCE ( terms and conditions), Scio undertakes to provide a social discount. The discount will be provided in the following range: each individual exam will be provided without a registration fee (ie a "mini" set free of charge - for sets with additional services, the price will be reduced accordingly); 100% discount on all other Scio products and services, the social discount provided in this way is limited to the purchase of other products and services up to CZK 2,000 / 80 EUR / school year. The discount cannot be applied for repeatedly and can only be applied once (only within one order / application for the NCE).
18.2 Requirements for requesting a discount
Scio will decide on the granting of a social discount on the basis of the applicant's application to participate in the NCE. An applicant for participation in the NCE is obliged to submit a request
- decision (or a certified copy) of the competent state administration body in the field of social security on granting the child allowance (see § 17, 18 c) of Act No. 117/1995 Coll.) as currently listed on the website of the MLSA - Allowance for child (for participants from the Slovak Republic in accordance with the provisions of Section 25 of the Act on Assistance in Material Need).
- payment schedule issued by the employment office, from which it follows that the person interested in participating in the NCE was the recipient of the benefit in the month preceding the month in which he / she is applying for a social discount
- affidavit of the NCE participant: affidavit form (please contact us)
Both documents must be sent by the NCE participant by registered mail: www.scio.cz, s.r.o., Pobřežní 34, Prague 8, 186 00.
18.3 Deciding on the provision of a social discount
After fulfilling the above conditions, Scio will decide on the recognition or non-granting of social discount. The person interested in participating in the NCE will be informed of this decision within 14 days by telephone or e-mail, and at the same time he will be informed of the procedure for applying the discount when ordering in the e-shop.
Attention: The NCE participant has no legal right to the provision of the social discount and is provided on the basis of a decision of Scio, depending on the fulfillment of the conditions set for its provision. The social discount can only be provided before the order is placed. Retrospectively, ie already ordered products and services, social discounts cannot be applied. Likewise, social discounts will not be provided for already discounted products (so-called "packages").
Unless otherwise stipulated in these terms and conditions, the provisions of the general part of Scio's terms and conditions on complaints and complaint procedures and the corresponding provisions of the applicable legal regulations shall apply mutatis mutandis to complaints within the NCE. This article deals only with specific situations within the NCE.
19.1 Complaints about the course of the tests
In the event that any problem occurs during the exam that could be considered a defect of the service provided, the NCE participant is entitled to complain about the exam.
The NCE participant can make a complaint in two ways:
a) a complaint about the course of the exams itself by raising an objection to the course of the examinations in the Participant's Protocol on the course of the examinations
Scio recommends this method of claiming to the NCE participant, as it will allow Scio to review the course of the test and resolve the complaint more effectively than if the complaint was lodged with a time lag. Therefore, if the NCE participant marks the option "Yes - I object to the test" in the participant's Protocol on the course of the examination, then Scio will review the objection immediately, before evaluating the test and will immediately inform the NCE participant about the result of the examination.
How to resolve such a complaint by Scio:
if Scio finds that the objection stated in the protocol is not justified (especially if the objected fact could not affect the course and result of the test), then it rejects the objection, the test will be evaluated by default if Scio finds that the objection is justified in the sense that a circumstance arose during the test which Scio could not have influenced but which could have affected the conduct and outcome of the test, then Scio will offer the NCE participant a choice - either the exam will be evaluated by default, or the exam will not be evaluated and he will be given a new term free of charge if Scio finds that the objection is justified in the sense that there was an error on the part of Scio which could have affected the course and result of the test, then the participant will still be evaluated for the test and at the same time will be offered a new date free of charge.
Attention: complaints made in this way will therefore always be resolved as a matter of priority, even before the results are processed and the test is evaluated. Other protocols will be checked and evaluated gradually later.
b) a complaint about the course of the tests itself at any time later
In the event that the examiner ticks the option "no - I do not object" in the "Participant's report" and still fills in the report with reservations about the exam, Scio will deal with such reservations in the report only after the evaluation of the exam.
Scio will proceed similarly even if the participant files a complaint about the course of the test at any time later.
In the case of such a complaint relating to the course of the examination within the NCE without the indication "yes - I raise an objection" in the "Protocol on the course of the test", it may happen that despite Scio's best efforts the situation during the test can no longer be therefore it had to be rejected.
If the complaint is justified and recognized by Scio, the participant will not be evaluated. At the same time, his payment of the exam price will be refunded. The participant will also be offered a new free exam date.
19.2 Complaints - objection to the exclusion of a test participant
The conditions for the exclusion of an exam participant are set out in the document "Information on the course of the NCE" (see Article 11 of these Terms and Conditions). If a participant is expelled, the exclusion protocol will be filled in by the exam administrator. In most cases, the said protocol will be practically the only evidence for the assessment of a possible complaint, and it is therefore in the NCE participant's interest to state all relevant facts in the report and sign the report or submit a complaint through it - objection to expulsion.
If the complaint is justified and recognized by Scio, the participant will not be evaluated. At the same time, his payment of the exam price will be refunded. The NCE participant will also be offered a new free exam date.
19.3 Complaint about a test error
Whereas the qualitative characteristics of the test are precisely determined in advance, in particular the number of tasks which may be erroneous and, as such, possibly excluded without compromising the quality and integrity of the service provided, and whereas the test sold is intended for use especially during the NCE test, Scio warns the NCE participants that in the event of a claim for a task up to the specified number of possible erroneous tasks, it is likely that the claim will be rejected as unfounded. However, each such complaint will of course be dealt with individually.
If the complaint is justified and recognized by Scio, the participant will not be evaluated. At the same time, his payment of the exam price will be refunded. The NCE participant will also be offered a new free exam date.
Note: The difference between resolving errors in the complaints test and the exclusion of the task based on the decision of the expert committee in the public opposition (according to Article 14 of the Terms and Conditions): in the case of the date of the test, the solution of the objected error in the test is therefore part of the service provided. A complaint-challenged error in the test will always be resolved only in relation to the NCE participant;
19.4 Complaints of record sheet processing
The NCE participant records his / her answers on the so-called record sheet during the exam.
If the participant is convinced that his / her answers in the record sheet were incorrectly evaluated or if his / her score was incorrectly calculated, he / she must inform Scio and request an individual evaluation of the record sheet (he complained about the processing of the record sheet).
Complaints can only be submitted via a personal profile at www.scio.sk/english. If, due to Scio's fault, the individual evaluation differs from the automatic one, the result will be changed according to the individual evaluation findings. The result of the individual evaluation of the record sheet is superior to the automatic evaluation and this result is final and unchangeable.
Warning - objection due to non-recognition of the NCE result by the faculty:
The objection that a particular faculty did not take into account the result of the NCE cannot be resolved as a complaint, as this is not a defect in the service provided or the goods sold. Given that according to Article 16.3 Scio does not guarantee (Article 16.3) and cannot guarantee that the submitted result will be taken into account in the admission procedure of a particular university faculty, and therefore Scio warns NCE participants that there is no reason for a refund if the applicant completes a term or subject of the NCE, the results of which the faculty does not recognize in the admission procedure or if the faculty does not open the program into which it admits on the basis of the results of the NCE.
20.1 Minimum technical requirements of the facility for passing the online NCE
On-line NCE can be held on a PC/MAc that meets the following minimum technical requirements:
- Windows 10 / MacOS Sierra 10.12 or later (64-bit version).
- Internet connection: download at least 5 Mbps (upload 1 Mbps).
- Processor at least dual-core 2.0 GHz and 4GB RAM.
- Display resolution at least 1024x768px.
- Webcam with a resolution of at least 480x360px, microphone. Both can be built-in or external. The webcam must allow manipulation so that it is possible to rotate a 360° view of the room.
- At least 8GB of free disk space for recording and storing data during the test.
20.2 Procedure before the online test
The participant is obliged to install the Proctoring Desktop application before the exam according to the instructions given in the personal profile.
It is entirely the participant's responsibility to have or be able to obtain equipment that meets the minimum technical requirements set out in the NCE Online Rules. Scio does not guarantee the availability of the service if the bidder does not have the equipment to meet these minimum requirements.
20.3 Accessing online exam
Access to the ScioLink application, together with the invitation to the online NCE and instructions, will be available in your personal profile no later than 8 days before the exam.
20.4 Verification of compliance with the minimum technical requirements
The participant is obliged to complete the so-called on-boarding no later than the fourth day before the exam, which serves to check the compatibility of his equipment (verification of compliance with the minimum technical requirements according to paragraph 20.1 of these Conditions) and readiness for the on-line exam. Part of the on-boarding is also the initial identification using a photo of the face and a photo of the identity card. The participant is obliged to complete on-boarding before each NCE date for which he / she applies.
The participant is obliged to perform on-boarding on the device, on which he / she will subsequently pass the exam itself. The fact that the participant successfully passes the on-boarding means that at the moment of the on-boarding implementation, his / her equipment meets the requirements for the online exam itself. However, it should be borne in mind that changing the device configuration between on-boarding and the test itself may result in the inability to pass the test, as the device will lose compatibility with the test system as a result of such configuration.
If the participant does not perform on-boarding within the set deadline (no later than 4 days before the exam), he will not be provided with technical support during the exam and if he is unable to pass the exam, he is not entitled to any compensation or refund).
A successful on-boarding is considered to be one in which the participant goes through all the steps of on-boarding until he / she submits a test.
The candidate is obliged to report to Scio within 3 days of making the login details available, but no later than 5 days before the test itself, if the equipment on which he plans to pass the test does not pass the HW inspection. On-boarding is an automatic operation processed only by the ScioLink system, it is not evaluated by Scio, therefore if the participant has any doubts about the performed on-boarding, it is necessary to contact Scio customer service to solve a possible problem. If the participant does not do so, he / she is not entitled to Scio's support in resolving the problem during the test.
20.5 Test time
The exam can only be taken at the time of the exam stated in the invitation and in the personal profile. If the participant does not join in time, the exam will not be made available to him / her. Scio does not provide any compensation for such a test.
20.6 Participant identification
Before the start of the exam, the participant will be identified using a webcam photo and a photo of the identity card. Before the start of the test, the participant may be asked to do a 360 ° scan of the room in which he / she is performing the test with the help of a webcam. The exact conditions of the online exam, including the requirements for the scan room, are given in the NCE Online Rules
20.7 Procedure in case of incompatibility of the participant's equipment for completing the online exam
The participant may request a change in the NCE deadline if the equipment on which the participant intended to complete the NCE online fails to successfully verify compliance with the minimum technical requirements according to paragraph 20.4 of these terms and conditions and the problem cannot be solved with the company's support. Scio, only if it complied with the deadline for performing the inspection of HW equipment according to paragraph 20.4, ie it performed the inspection within 3 days of making the login data available, but no later than 5 days before the test itself. The condition for changing the NCE term for this reason is that the participant cooperates with Scio administrators in solving the problem. The application must state that the participant requests a change of deadline due to non-compliance with the minimum technical requirements. If these conditions are met, the participant will be changed the date of the exam to the nearest after the date of the NCE, for which he has not yet registered. If no such deadline is already available to the participant (the participant is registered for all remaining), he will be refunded 100% of the exam fee.
20.8 Evaluation of the regularity of the on-line exam
Regularity, ie compliance with the Rules of the on-line NCE , of each on-line exam is evaluated by trained Scio evaluators no later than 10 days after the exam. In the event that a violation of the NCE Online Rules is found, Scio will decide on the invalidity of the result. The participant is informed about the invalidity of the result in his personal profile and by e-mail and at the same time receives a confirmation of the invalid result of the exam according to paragraph 13.3 of these Conditions.
20.9 Technical problems with online exam and solutions
In the event of technical problems complicating the proper conduct of the online test, which are demonstrably caused by a fault in Scio's technical solution, Scio will decide on an appropriate solution given the nature of the technical problems and how and to what extent they may have affected the test result. the choice between keeping the test result and returning 100% of the test price, or refunding 100% of the test price, where technical problems could have significantly affected the test result. In such a case, the tenderer must submit an objection to the course of the online NCE according to paragraph 20.11 of these conditions. The applicant's entitlement will be assessed by Scio's technical support staff no later than 7 days after the NCE deadline.
In the event of technical problems that do not allow the online test to be performed, which are demonstrably caused by a fault in Scio's technical solution, the bidder is entitled to a refund of 100% of the price for the test. In such a case, the tenderer must submit an objection to the course of the online NCE according to paragraph 20.11 of these conditions. The applicant's entitlement will be assessed by Scio's technical support staff no later than 7 days after the NCE deadline.
21.1 Validity and binding nature of the Rules for Participation in the NCE (Business Conditions)
These Rules for Participation in the NCE (Terms and Conditions) apply to all relationships and processes concerning only the NCE. For other services, including all services related to NCE, and Scio's deliveries, the Business Terms and Conditions (for customers from the Czech Republic) and the General Terms and Conditions (for customers from Slovakia) apply.
21.3 Out-of-court settlement of a consumer dispute
If the customer believes that Scio has breached its obligations under the concluded contract, it will communicate its complaint to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org
In the event that, despite the mutual efforts of the Customer and Scio, no agreement is reached to resolve the dispute, the Customer is entitled to file an out-of-court settlement of a consumer dispute pursuant to Act No. 634/1992 Coll., On Consumer Protection.
The Czech Trade Inspection Authority is the subject of out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes between Scio and the Customer as a Consumer. The Customer has the opportunity to submit a proposal to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority via the online form available on the Czech Trade Inspection Authority's website: https://adr.coi.cz/cs. The customer may submit a proposal to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority no later than 1 year from the date on which he exercised his right, which is the subject of the dispute, with Scio for the first time. The customer can also submit a proposal through the EU Out-of-Court Consumer Dispute Resolution Platform, which is available online at: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/odr/main/index.cfm?vent=main.home.show&lng=EN. Only an EU consumer can apply here to an EU-based trader
If the disputing parties are not satisfied with the quality of the out-of-court settlement of a consumer dispute and believe that the Rules for Out-of-Court Settlement of Consumer Disputes were violated during the proceedings, they can file a complaint to the Ministry of Industry and Trade or to the email address email@example.com.
The costs associated with out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes are borne by the parties themselves.
21.4 Consent - obligation - of the NCE participant by these Rules of participation in the NCE (business conditions)
By clicking on the consent button in the application, the person interested in participating in the NCE confirms his / her agreement with these business conditions and his / her willingness to follow them within the framework of the contractual relationship in question.
