School Evaluation Projects

School Map

project is implemented using an extensive questionnaire-based survey which is focused on mapping the school climate, i.e. mutual relationships and individual attitudes and opinions of students, parents and teachers. Examined areas include school goals, why parents choose our school, satisfaction with the school, quality and form of courses, relationships and many more...

Complex Evaluation Analysis

project is aimed at providing schools with a long-term and systematic overview of teaching outputs. CEA is designed for students in the 6th to 9th grades (10-15 years of age). Over 1,000 Czech primary schools (37% of all schools) participated in the project in 2007/2008, i.e. approximately 70,000 pupils.

Potential

the aim of the project is to actively seek out students who have sufficient prerequisites for successful university study and, after they have finished their mandatory education, to continue studying in a suitable school and later enter university.

Similarly to the American No Child Left Behind programme, we try to increase the standards of accountability for municipalities, school districts and schools, while also providing parents more flexibility in choosing which schools their children will attend.

Vektor

the project provides schools with a basis for long-term self-assessment. This project is based on testing students at the beginning and end of their studies, which enables determination of the students’ relative advance,i.e. what the schools actually provide to students.

In the 2007/2008 school year, 384 secondary schools (25,069 students) took part in the Project. That is 32% of all Czech secondary schools which administer the Maturita exam (the prerequisite of University studies).
